Beginning September 2006 and
September 2007 - The schools in the Albany diocese will be using Power
School, an Internet-based
Student Information System. With this program, Administrators and the
School Office will have access to accurate information in order to make
more effective decisions. Teachers will gain timesaving administrative
tools, parents will have immediate access to their children’s grades,
and students will be able to track their own progress.

October is Cyber
Security Awareness Month. The
First Annual Cyber Security Awareness Conference was held at the Empire
State Plaza on October 20, 2005. Materials available for your home and
classroom:

Digital
Video on Demand - over 15,000
full-length videos and 20,000 digital video clips (and NOW writing
prompts, photo library, clip art gallery, assignment builder, quiz maker,
and lesson plans) for your classroom curriculum available to you on the
Internet NOW! go to: www.
unitedstreaming.com and put in your schools passcode and create your

parents and students so they can sign up for usernames and passwords and
access your playlists as well as creating their own.

Coming August 2006
- Teachers will be able part in a 40-hour training on Interactive Thinking
Tools sponsored by Intel
Teach to the Future Program.

Teachers can easily create
their own webpages by purchasing a subscription to MyTeacher
Pages.com. The diocese has
obtained the discounted price of $20/year. Click

2005-2006 - Teachers will
participate in 8 online interactive chats as a professional program
organized through 21st
Century Learning.
The focus of this program is to improve student writing.

2005-2006 - Student will be
able to participate in 5 Online
Collaborative Projects
sponsored by the diocese in addition to those offered through Technospud.com

NYSCATE
Conference this
November will be in Albany. There will be a Regional conference in
Wappingers Falls and in Binghamton again in March 2006.

BestBuy
Grant applications are available.
Awards are $2500. Deadline was September 30,
2005. Winners will be announced January 15, 2005. A new
round will begin in the spring.

part in the Intel's
Leadership Forum on August 12,
2005 at St. Pius.

The first Albany Diocesan Tech
Camp took place at St. Pius on August

purchased a 90 day pilot of EasyTech
by Learning.com. The training
was held on August 18, 2005 at St. Pius X. Click
