"We take
pride in our school and have high ideals" |
Saint Ambrose School is a suburban,
co-educational parish school with an enrollment of approximately 230

Franciscan Sister of the Atonement and lay teachers who have been
recognized in our community as a News Channel 13 Educator of the Week,
Wal-Mart Teacher of the Year, and a Times Union Sourceline Teacher of
the Month.
Our students
come from 20 different local school districts: 35% of our students are
from the Shenendehowa School District, 28% are from North Colonie
District, 8% are from Cohoes School District, and the remaining

St. Ambrose is open to members of all
faiths who adhere to the basic teaching philosophy professed by the
school. 85% of our students are Catholic and 15% are non-Catholic.
Our Academic program meets or exceeds the
curriculum objectives of both the New York State Department of Education
and the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany. Our students participate
and excel in
all New York State testing. Children in grades 3-8 also take the
IOWA standardized exam every year.
In conjunction with the core curriculum,
the following classes are also offered: physical education, music,
library, art, computer, Spanish (K-8) and Gaelic (6-8). In order
to meet the needs of all our students we also offer remedial and speech
services based upon teacher recommendation. Students do not have to be
classified to receive services.
