8th grade Religion:

In Religion we have covered the history of the Roman Catholic Church:

  • Through the Middle Ages
  • Liturgy of the Hours
  • Devotions such at the Rosary, Divine Mercy Chaplet, Novenas to favorite saints, Miraculous Medal
  • The Protestant Reformation
  • Lutheran
  • Methodist
  • Other Christian denominations
  • Counter Reformation – reforms made to correct abuses or otherwise non-beneficial practices to nourish the faith.
  •  

    In Math:

    8 Honors – we are working hard toward our Math A exam on June 14th at 1:15 pm. Students may be released from exam after 2 hours and may stay up to 3 hours.

    We are wrapping up the year with graphing quadratic equations. Factoring quadratic equations to find roots, quadratic formula, and solving systems of equations.

    8th – We are working hard on percents. 8th and 7 Honors have recently been "employed" at a local car dealership, "selling" cars and "earning" commission and calculating their check. Having "home expenses" to pay, making investments to save to buy their own car.

    7R, 6R and 6 Honors – are working on Geometry, plane figures, polygons, area and perimeter, area of sectors, 3-D figures

    Math 4 – is working on division and will soon learn measurement and capacity and use one digit and two digit division and multiplication to change units in measurement.
