MarcoPolo: Internet Content for the Classroom is a partnership between the MarcoPolo Education Foundation and leading educational organizations that produces quality, standards-based, commercial-free Internet content for the K-12 classroom, accessible through seven discipline-specific educational web sites. MarcoPolo is the name of the overall partnership and the name of the gateway site (http://www.marcopolo-education.org/) from which the partner sites are accessed.

Standards Based Lessons: Each content partner site maintains and continues to develop a collection of lesson plans that are aligned with national content standards, and that meet rigorous levels of best, research-based practices. A total of more than 1200 lesson plans in the seven core areas of mathematics, science geography, the humanities, reading, economics, and the fine arts are easily accessed by searching the database developed and maintained specifically and solely for the MarcoPolo Project. Professional Development Opportunities abound for the teachers in the Albany diocese. Training sessions will be conducted for one teacher in each school on August 27 and 28, 2003.  During the course of the 2003-4 school year, training will be scheduled for teachers in each individual building.
