Intel Teach to the Future

Intel® Teach to the Future is a worldwide effort to help experienced teachers integrate technology into instruction and enhance student learning. Participating teachers receive extensive training and resources to promote effective technology use in the classroom. Teachers learn from other teachers how, when and where to incorporate technology tools and resources into their lesson plans. In addition, they are instructed on how best to create assessment tools and align lessons with educational learning goals and standards. The program incorporates use of the Internet, Web page design, and student projects.

The Master Teachers on the chart below have received 40 hours of training and curriculum review. These teachers have learned how students and teachers can best use technology to enhance learning through research, communication, and productivity strategies and tools. They participated in hands-on learning experiences while creating curricular units and evaluation tools designed to address state and national academic and technology standards. Teacher-developed units resulting from this training can be put into practice immediately. The Master Teachers will receive all necessary curriculum materials to train 10 Participant Teachers. Participant teachers will receive 40 hours of instruction on effective pedagogical approaches for using computers with students. By the end of the program all Participant Teachers will have completed training on the effective use of technology, which will maximize the Albany diocese’s and the schools’ investment in technology. All teachers will be presented with a certificate recognizing their successful completion of the Intel Teach to the Future training.

Congrats to Colleen Pasquale who won a Smart Board for her school!!

The Intel Teach to the Future Leadership Forum provides support for K-12 instructional leaders who plan and implement technology integration and professional development in their schools. This four-hour forum provides face-to-face, hands-on professional development focusing on the importance of leadership for effective technology integration for improved teaching and learning.

Through this forum, administrators:

Examine the critical role leaders play in the effective integration of technology into teaching and learning

Apply their knowledge to create a prioritized list of leadership behaviors that impact the integration of technology as a tool to improve student learning

Analyze the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) National Educational Technology Standards for Administrators (NETS-A)*

Synthesize  their understanding to begin development of a personalized action plan
