I was a doctoral student (now on leave), as well, in the ETAP department at the University at Albany. This is how my educational focus changed from French to Instructional Technology. At UAlbany, I have worked as a graduate assistant in the Learning Technologies Laboratory and have taught a summer graduate course entitled WWW Authoring for Education and the on-line course, Ed Computing I. In July of 1998, I switched careers and became the Director of Educational Technology for the schools in the Roman Catholic Diocese of Albany, New York. As technology director, I worked as part of team of seven people in the Catholic School Office. I was personally responsible for coordinating the integration of technology in 37 elementary schools and 6 high schools. This coordination involved assisting the schools in technology planning, grant writing, software and hardware selection, web page development, and organizing staff development and grant opportunities. In October 2007, I started working at Albany Law School as their Instructional Technologist. I work with the faculty helping them use technology in their classrooms and on other technology-related projects. I try to write about technology as it relates to my experience at the law school in my blog.
Besides my job, there is my family.
My husband, Lou (We got married January 1999 and bought a new house that
August.) works as a car hauler. We met in October 1996 playing
tennis. However, his passion is planes, particularly ultralights.

photo I have 2 stepsons. Christopher is 19 years old and a freshman at Plattsburgh State. He is interested in psychology. Stephen is 20 years old and a junior at the University of Binghamton. He is majoring in electrical engineering. They both love computer games. In the summer, we spend a lot of time on our boat on Lake George. Last year we bought a new boat - a 26' Four Winns cruiser The rest of my family includes our 5 cats. (Taz, a white and gray Tabby, disappeared last May. Dusty died of cancer on July 2004). Jerry is black and white and always purring. Spooky's all black and quite a wild one. Slater is gray and white and the most loveable of all. We replaced Taz with 2 adorable kittens: Honey and Billy.
One of my main pastimes is tennis. Although, I started the
sport late in life and will never play like a pro, I enjoy it
immensely. I play on a USTA team at the 3.0 (both adult
and senior) level and on a mixed 6.0 team. I also play TCT team tennis. In
October 2002, my adult USTA 2.5 team competed at the National
championships in Palm Springs. CA. Now every fall we go to Las
Vegas to play tennis and to Naples, Fla. in the spring.
Due to all my years as a French teacher, I am interested in anything French: movies, books, art, music, theater (especially Les Misérables). I enjoy traveling and photography. Obviously, I've been to France many times and have also visited several European countries and Israel. Someday I hope to see more of the United States. Christmas 1997, I went to the Caribbean (Puerto Rico) for the first time. We spent our honeymoon in St. Croix. In May 2000, I went to Paris and then to Holland to visit a friend. I went to Kursk, Russia in April 2002, 2004 and 2006 with some teachers ( I am now on the board of the Amerus Exchange.)
I wish I had more time to spend on some leisure time activities that I enjoy. These activities include reading and quilting. Now, I watch an occasional TV show and surf the net (which is actually work-related).
